More Success this season for J4K

This season I have had some amazing success stories as 4 more keepers have signed for professional clubs. Plus one of our ex-students Oakley Heath-Drury has been signed as an apprentice at Grimsby Town; he is only one step away from becoming a professional. Oakley attended the first ever Just 4 Keepers session I ran in 2007 and was with Just 4 keepers for 6 years. He was first signed on at Grimsby Town under 15’s. I’ve also got 5 goalkeepers currently on trial with Sheffield United, Hull city, Doncaster Rovers and Grimsby Town. In the 8 years I’ve been running Just 4 Keepers I have trained many goalkeepers who have been signed to professional clubs, this includes; 1x Sheffield United, 2x Sheffield Wednesday, 4x Scunthorpe United 3x Doncaster Rovers and 5x Grimsby Town. Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United are both category one level academies so this is the equivalent of playing in the premier league of academies. Also in that time two female keepers have been signed for Lincoln City and Doncaster Bells, 2 of the biggest ladies clubs in the country. When Kyle Richards was signed by Sheffield United they commented that it was evident he had been coached properly. Unfortunately many goalkeepers are attending trials at academies without having quality coaching behind them; these are the ones who will be left behind. Just 4 Keepers Features on the local Sports Show On the Bench

Just 4 Keepers Student Ben Walkeley just signed for Scunthorpe United Under 15's. This means that at Scunthorpe United the Under 12's keeper Thomas Collins, Under 14's Keeper Corey Briggs and now the under 15's keepers Ben Walkeley all came through Just 4 Keepers.

Any parents and students in any doubt about the success of Just 4 Keepers need only look at two recent success stories. Two Just 4 Keepers students have recently signed by professional clubs in this area, Ben Walkley signed for Scunthorpe Untied, and Oakley Heath-Drury signed for Grimsby Town. Oakley has trained with Just 4 Keepers for over six years and Ben for three years. What is significant about this is that both are under 15’s and it becomes harder the older you get to sign for professional clubs for a number of reasons. Goalkeepers are competing against other keepers that have been with clubs for many years training 3 times a week. Professional clubs only sign players at this age if they significantly better than the goalkeepers they already have and they must have a chance of getting a scholarship. Goalkeepers will be expected to slot straight into playing academy football so they are after a very high standard. Playing in goal is such a technical position that if you haven’t been coached properly then you will not fulfil your potential. Both Grimsby and Scunthorpe said that the one of the main reasons that they have signed them is that they have been coached properly. Unless you have been coached by a goalkeeper coach (they must have played in goal to a good standard) then you will not fulfil your potential.
